Edge effects on the electromagnetic response of inhomogeneous type-II superconductors

From a macroscopic point of view, the edges type II superconductor are degraded non-homogeneous regions compared with bulk sample. This paper presents numerical simulations long superconducting bar square cross section subjected to an axial external magnetic field, effect on its electromagnetic properties is studied. The sample modeled as finite width lower critical current density than rest material. based continuum electrodynamics model which describes induction dynamics partially penetrated states. Unlike simpler homogeneous superconductor, in inhomogeneous material rough flux fronts formed. It was established that stochastic profile produces jets near macrodefect.
